Aonyx were commissioned by a private client to deliver a high specification, fully integrated AV & Home Automation system & Cinema Room for his new family home.

As is often the case, we knew the client well, having installed and maintained the system at his previous home. Having built a great working relationship with the family over a number of years, we were more than familiar with their preferences, ‘must-haves’ and lifestyle and were therefore able to carry through many of the design and operational elements to the new home, maintaining continuity, familiarity and ease of use for the whole family and staff.
In a picturesque rural setting amongst extensive grounds, the house forms part of an exclusive gated community just outside London. The project comprised a full ‘back to brick’ strip out, extension and renovation of the existing main house and the creation of a luxury subterranean leisure complex comprising swimming pool, spa and fitness centre along with several outbuildings including garages, staff quarters and ‘man-cave’.
One of the many outstanding and rare features that sets this project apart, is the extent of the outdoor living facilities. Backing onto rolling green belt land, encompassing its very own lake with surrounding botanical gardens and extensive hard landscaping (complete with water features, al fresco dining and relaxation areas, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and award-winning horticulture). Aonyx were tasked to bring technology into the outdoors, bridging the gap between home and nature.
A custom designed, high spec audio visual system was developed and implemented in concert with the landscape design team to offer high fidelity AV to the key outdoor entertainment spaces, with the least possible visual impact to the beautiful surroundings. In-ground landscape speakers were deployed discreetly to envelop the spaces with a perfectly even blanket of sound and a unique outdoor viewing area was created for relaxing on a warm summer evening under the stars. Equally importantly to the client was the deployment of an enterprise grade managed outdoor Wi-Fi system to ensure constant rock-solid communications at all times.
The client had made clear from the outset that the cinema had to be something special and we are proud to say that the end result surpassed all expectations. Aonyx designed and delivered a turnkey solution incorporating a reference quality Dolby Atmos, 4K Cinema system, bespoke cinema seating, integrated bar and joinery solution, all finished with the most opulent of materials including starlight fibre optic stretched fabric ceiling, Italian marble, premium acoustically transparent fabrics and hand stretched alcantara leather panelling.
